Synopsis

SCUM centers around a young girl living in a horticultural community comprised exclusively of women, which has never felt male influence. Upon the arrival of a new woman, the child begins to see cracks in her utopia as she is forced to relinquish her naivety and face the disturbing truth of life on the flower farm. 

Why now?

SCUM is extremely relevant with the zeitgeist of our generation. It examines ever evolving gender dynamics and brings into question women’s call for reparations after living so long in a patriarchal society. As feminism is ever evolving, it is important to depict its stages before it inevitably changes once more.
